On 31st October I celebrated Halloween with my friends. It’s a special celebration here with games and fun. We dress up as ghosts and witches and visit people’s homes to play “trick-or-treat”. What celebration do you like best in your country? What do you do to celebrate it? How does it compare in popularity with other celebrations there?
Write him a letter and answer her 3 questions.
Write 100–120 words. Remember the rules of letter writing.

Dear Sandra,
Thank you for your last letter. Sorry I haven’t written for so long as I was busy with my school.
I’m glad you enjoyed the celebration. Halloween sounds like great fun. My favourite celebration is Maslenitsa or Pancake Day. We eat lots of pancakes, called bliny. Maslenitsa welcomes the coming of spring. At the end of the festival a figure representing winter is burnt on a bonfire. Other popular celebrations are New Year and Victory Day, a huge celebration with parades held on 9th May in honour of the victory over fascists in 1945.
That's all for now as I have to finish my homework. Hope to hear from you soon.
Best wishes,
Ann

10 TH Form Card1 Term2

10th form Term2 material for Card1

Every single day newspapers and news channels report on the day's events. Work related deaths make headlines. Trapped miners, wounded soldiers, fallen window washers, shot policemen, burnt firemen, assaulted armored car drivers, lost fishermen, dismembered stuntmen, accident-prone NASCAR pit crews, drowned deep sea divers, or missing oil workers have all been in the news just recently. It's always a tragedy, but for these people it's also their daily existence - their job.
It takes a brave, courageous, determined individual to choose a dangerous career. Some like the excitement of never knowing what will come next. Others like going places that no man has gone before. It may be because people don't want to sit in an office, eat donuts, and get old.
Dangerous jobs are a great example of risk versus reward - the riskier the job, the greater the reward. The reward can be passion or pay. People may take on risk because they love what they do - stuntmen, pit crew, or policemen. Others may assume more risk because of the ridiculously high pay. When the pros and cons are weighed, dangerous jobs often win.
We all need a bit of risk and a sense of danger in our lives. It makes us feel alive and allows us to appreciate things more. The passion for life, the adrenaline rush, and the acceptance of risk make people choose dangerous jobs.
